What are the chances of me getting into a decent university to finish off my junior and senior years? I know gpa and mcat scores are what matters the most as a premed student but I would also like to transfer to a good university.
I am currently a 3.0 gpa premed(biology) student at a community college planning to apply to UCLA, USC, UCI, etc. But what are my chances at these schools? I have attended CC for 3 years so far and I have turned my college life around. Once upon a time hardly would I even consider to pursue the path of medicine. I was faced with a 2.4 gpa student beginning my second year at a cc. But since then, I have managed to improve my gpa to a 3.0 with mostly core classes. My gpa for the past year 3 semesters have all been 3.5's and all science courses with the exception of two english classes. I unfortunately though received a C in my past intersession where I simply bit off more than I could chew. Aside form that, I currently have 1 student research on my resume as well as 1 other currently in progress. I have also been working part-time over 2 years and recently took on another part-time job (which is why i have averaged 8-10 units my past 3 semesters). With that all said, I just wanted to test the waters as to what my chances are to be admitted into a university(UCLA) where I may continue my pursuit for medical school.
Thank you in advance for your responses!
